Established in 1982, Paul Stamati Gallery is an art gallery and antique store specializing in 20th-century decorative arts, French Art Deco lighting, furniture, fine art and collectible objects. The gallery is recognized as a leading source for Art Deco lighting by René Lalique.
Our antique store gallery features an extensive collection of chandeliers, wall sconces and lamps, with a particular focus on the groundbreaking designs of René Lalique and Marius-Ernest Sabino. We also offer beautifully crafted furniture, paintings, sculpture and decorative objects by important French designers and artists of the 1920s through the 1940s.
Featured designers and makers include Jules Leleu, Edgar Brandt, Daum, Sue et Mare, Raymond Subes, Gilbert Poillerat and other influential figures of the Art Deco period.
Paul Stamati Gallery works with private collectors, interior designers, architects and antique dealers around the world. Pieces from the gallery have appeared in classic and contemporary interiors featured in Architectural Digest, Elle Decor and The New York Times.
The gallery is open to the design trade and the general public by appointment.Our History
PAUL STAMATI GALLERY was founded in 1982.At that time it was located at the Manhattan Art and Antiques Center, dealing in French Art Nouveau. In 1987 it merged with Chasen Antiques and was located at 985 Madison Avenue under the name of Chasen-Stamati Gallery. Based on both partners knowledge and expertise the Gallery was dealing in French Art Nouveau glass lamps and furniture by makers like Galle, Daum , Majorelle and American glass and lamps particularly Tiffany. Louis Icart etchings and paintings played an important role also. In 1989 the partnership was desolved and the newly reinstated Paul Stamati Gallery returned to the Manhattan Art and Antiques Center. At that time we moved from dealing in Art Nouveau to Art Deco, with no changes to the present.
In June 2014, due to the rapid changes in the business landscape particularly the fast developing of the internet, the location became less important.
